“I have no neutral thought”s –LESSON 16-

-From Chapter 2, Section 6-

Everyone experiences fear. Yet it would take very little right thinking to realize why fear occurs. Few appreciate the real power of the mind, and no one remains fully aware of it all the time. However, if you hope to spare yourself from fear there are some things you must realize, and realize fully. The mind is very powerful, and never loses its creative force. It never sleeps. Every instant it is creating. It is hard to recognize that thought and belief combine into a power that surge that can literally move mountains. It appears at first glance that to believe such power about yourself is arrogant, but that is not the real reason you do not believe it. You prefer to believe that your thoughts cannot exert real influence because you are actually afraid of them. This may allay awareness of the guilt, but at the cost of perceiving the mind as impotent. If you believe that what you think is ineffectual you may cease to be afraid of it, but you are hardly likely to respect it. There are no idle thoughts. All thinking produces form at some level.

You have one test, as sure as God, by which to recognize if what you learned is true. If you are WHOLLY free of fear of any kind, and if all those who meet, or even THINK of you, SHARE in your perfect peace, then you can be sure that you have learned GOD'S lesson, and NOT yours. Unless all this is true, there ARE dark lessons in your minds, which hurt and hinder you, AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU. The ABSENCE of PERFECT peace means but ONE thing; you THINK you do not will for God's Son what His Father wills for him. Every dark lesson teaches this, in one form or another. And each bright lesson, with which the Holy Spirit will REPLACE the dark ones you do NOT accept and hide, teaches you that you will WITH the Father unto His Son.

Do not be concerned how you can learn a lesson so COMPLETELY different from everything you have taught yourselves. How would you know? Your part is very simple. You need only recognize that everything YOU learned you DO NOT WANT. Ask to BE taught, and do NOT use your experiences to confirm what YOU have learned. When your peace is threatened, or disturbed in ANY way, say to yourself,

"I do not know what anything, INCLUDING THIS, means. And so I do NOT know HOW TO RESPOND TO IT. And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now."

By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know, the Guide Whom God has given you, will speak to you. HE will take His rightful place in your awareness, the instant YOU abandon it, and offer it to Him.

God’s Will for us is perfect happiness..

When we are not happy it is because we let an alien will affect us. The ego’s will.

The ego’s will for us is to be in constant fear. Fear is its defence. Without it, the ego would be without any justification for existence.

Yet, it’s up to us to choose.

Do we want to follow the peaceful path of Love that leads us back to our Father?

Or do we prefer to seek the path of fear with the thorns that leads us to illusions and misery?

Yes, it’s that simple!

And the truth is that there really is no choice at all!

There can be no other Will but His!

The alien will APPEARING to oppose His is NOT real! It’s an illusion! It’s FAKE!

The only problem is that while we THINK that this fake will is real, we will not find the happy end He has appointed as the outcome of all problems we perceive, all trials we see, and every situation that we meet.

Yet, we can still rejoice!

The ending is certain! God’s Will is done in earth and Heaven.

Let us not interfere and delay the happy endings He has promised us for every problem that we can perceive; for every trial we think we still must meet.

What need we do?

We need to be in the PRESENT.

We need to forget our brothers’ past.

The past is where fear abides. Fear can be ONLY in the past.

Love remains the only PRESENT state, whose Source is here forever and forever.

How can we achieve this?

When we wake in the morning, let us make ONLY one decision.

Let us decide that we are here only to be helpful.

Let us decide that we are here to represent Him Who sent us.

Let us decide not to worry about what to say or what to do, since He Who sent us will guide us.

Let us decide to be content wherever we might be, since He goes there with us.

Let us decide to heal ourselves as we let Him teach us to heal.

Yes, all these are but ONE decision!

And after that decision,

Let us invite the Holy Spirit to look through our eyes.

Let us invite the Holy Spirit to use our voice and speak through us.

And let forgiveness be the only gift we give..

Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.

-          Lesson 166-

The Thought of God created me.

It has never left me, nor have I been apart from It an instant.

It belongs to me.

By It I live.

It is my Source of life, holding me one with It, and everything is one with me, because It left me not.

The Thought of God protects me, cares for me, makes soft my resting place and smooth my way, lighting my mind with happiness and love. Eternity and everlasting life shine in my mind, because the Thought of God has left me not, and still abides with me.

Has the Thought of God created this world?

Is it possible this world of misery and fear to be an extension of a Thought of Love?

Of course not!

So, this world is not real.

What makes this world seem real except my own denial of the truth that lies beyond?

What but my thoughts of misery and death obscure the perfect happiness my Father wills for me?

And what could hide what cannot be concealed except illusion?

What could keep me from what I already have except my choice to see it not, denying it is there?

Let me not deny Heaven!

Let me not forget it is mine but for the asking.

I accept the gifts of Heaven. I ask to receive it and it is given me. I accept the Thought of God as my inheritance.

One walks with me Who gently answers all my fears with this one merciful reply, “It is not so”.

He points to all the gifts I have each time the thought of poverty oppresses me, and speaks of His Companionship when I perceive myself as lonely and afraid.

The gifts are mine; entrusted to my care, to give to all who chose the lonely road I have escaped.

I teach them by showing them the happiness that comes to those who feel the touch of Christ, and recognize God’s gifts.

Let sorrow not tempt me to be unfaithful to my trust.

My hand becomes the giver of Christ’s touch; my change of mind becomes the proof that who accepts God gifts can never suffer anything.

I am entrusted with the world’s release from pain.

Let me not betray it.

Let me become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone.

Such is my mission now.

For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who received them.

He has shared His joy with me.

And now I go to share it with the world.

Based on Lessons 165 and 166.

Father, I give You all my thoughts today. I would have none of mine. In place of them, give me your Own. I give You all my acts as well, that I may do Your Will instead of seeking goals which cannot be obtained, and wasting time in vain imaginings. Today I come to You. I will step back and merely follow You. Be You the Guide, and I the follower who questions not the wisdom of the Infilite, nor Love whose tenderness I cannot comprehend, but which is yet Your perfect gift to me.

Today we have one Guide to lead us on. And as we walk together, we will give this day to Him with no reserve at all. This is His day. And so it is a day of countless gifts and mercies unto us..

 THE HEALING POWER OF LOVE AND FORGIVENESS

Let this day be a day of stillness and of quiet listening.

Angels, watch my thoughts and guard my mind against my “enemies”.

Let no thoughts of anxiety, anger, fear intrude the holy Altar, Where He abides.

Let all my thoughts be quiet!

My Father wills I hear His Word. He calls to me from deep within my mind where He abides.

Let me hear Him! The world needs me to hear my Father’s Word! This world will change through me. No other means can save it, for God’s plan is simply this: The Son of God is free to save himself, given the Word of God to be His Guide, forever in his mind and at his side to lead him surely to his Father’s house by his own will, forever free as God’s. He is not led by force, but only love. He is not judged, but only sanctified.

In stillness I will hear God’s Voice today without the intrusion of my petty thoughts, without my personal desires, and without all judgment of His holy Word.

Let me not judge myself today, for what I really am, cannot be judged.

Let me not listen to the world today, but wait in silence for the Word of God.

Let me hear my Father speak. His Voice would give to me His holy Word, to spread across the world the tidings of salvation and the holy time of peace.

Angels, help me and guide me, today! Let me find time set apart from listening to the world, and gentle listen to the Word of God. He speaks from nearer than my heart to me. His Voice is closer than my hand. His Love is everything I am and that He is; the same as me, and me the same as He.

It is my voice to which I listen as He speaks to me. It is my word He speaks. It is the Word of freedom and of peace, of unity of will and purpose, with no separation nor division in the single Mind of Father and Son.

Let me listen, in quiet, to my Self today, and let Him tell me God has never left His Son, and I have never left my Self.

How exciting that, at last, this world has a purpose: to teach and learn together the unlimited power of the whole universe that is ours through the creative love of God - the revelation that you are experiencing in the release of your own conceptual self-identity.

The core of the curriculum is that you are no longer feeling responsible for the sickness and pain and death that is inherent in the human mind; and that you are, in fact, undergoing this enlightenment or experience or miracle of the turning of your self-will over to the Will of God.

All right.

And it's the act of doing it, that is what miracle is. And it is continuous and it is going on all the time.

What an incredible discovery!

From Jesus is praying..

Verily, verily, I say unto you.

The Son can do nothing of himself.

but what he seeth the Father do:

for what things soever He doeth,

these also doeth the Son likewise.

Pollyanna is a fictional character. She is a wonderful example of a miracle worker!!

No wonder that the culture of this world invalidates her.

However, I have made up my mind to be like her!!

I want to be a Pollyanna!

I have decided to extend my perception beyond what my physical senses reveal to me, to what my heart knows to be true about every human being.

I know what I have to do.

I will let the Holy Spirit transform my perception and I will let the Christ’s vision look upon all thing for me without judging them. I will let the miracles of Love do their work.

I know what I will not do.

I will not interfere!!

It doesn’t matter how anyone behaves. I have faith in the love I know exists behind anyone’s fear, and in this way I invoke their love into expression.

I will not interfere!!

I will not attack or defend myself!

I prefer to be peaceful and joyous than “right”.

My power lies in remaining nonreactive. When I attack back, and defense is a form of attack, I initiate a war that no one can win.

I seek a miracle, instead. In seeking a miracle, I don’t take part in life’s battles, but rather I am asking to be lifted above them. The Holy Spirit reminds me that they are not real.

The Holy Spirit also reminds me that contrary to how it feels when I’m lost in the emotions that tempt me to judge, there’s no such thing as righteous anger.

It actually doesn’t matter who started first. Whether I’m attacking first or attacking back, I am an instrument of attack and not of love.

But I want to be an instrument of love!!

Even in political and social issues, I know that an angry generation cannot bring peace. Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it. As Gandhi said, “We must be the change”.

All the missiles of the countries “defense” or “attack” establishments are but a projection of the missiles we hold in our mind. The only guns we need to get rid of are the guns in our heads. The rest will follow.

That is why I choose to be a Pollyanna.

 “ What is an idol? Do you think you know? For idols are unrecognized as such, and NEVER seen for what they really are. That is the only power which they have. And it is this which NEVER is perceived and recognized. Be it a body or a thing, a place, a situation or a circumstance, an object owned or wanted, or a right demanded or achieved, it is the same.”

“Let not their form deceive you. Idols are but substitutes for your reality. In some way you believe they will complete your little self, and let you walk in safety in a world perceived as dangerous, with forces massed against your confidence and peace of mind. They have the power to supply your lacks, and add the value which you do not have. No-one believes in idols who has not enslaved himself to littleness and loss. And thus must seek BEYOND his little self for strength to raise his head, and stand apart from all the misery the world reflects. This is the penalty for looking not within for certainty, and for a quiet calm which liberates you FROM the world, and lets you stand apart in quiet and in peace unlimited.”

“An idol is a false impression, or a false belief; some form of anti-Christ which constitutes a gap BETWEEN the Christ and what you see. An idol is a wish, made tangible and given form, and thus perceived as real, and seen OUTSIDE the mind. Yet they remain ideas, and CANNOT leave the mind that is their source. Nor is their form apart from the idea it represents”

An idol is like a veil which hides the Light from us , the Christ – our real self. Yet, the Light is there. A cloud does not banish nor put out the sun. It just hides It from our sight.

So, what is an idol?

NOTHING.

Only when you believe in it you make it come into life. And when you believe it you give it power over you. This power is based on fear. Its life and its power are your faith’s gifts to it.

When you withdraw your belief the idol dies.

Where is the idol?

NOWHERE.

“Can there be a gap in what is infinite, a place where time can INTERRUPT eternity? A place of darkness set where all is light?”

Is there anything that can interrupt eternity?

So, let us make the only necessary “sacrifice”.

 Let us sacrifice fear.

 Let us sacrifice fear and all that comes with it.

Misery, suffering, worries and doubts.”

With this “sacrifice”, all idols fall one by one, as they have no reason for existence anymore.

This is our only debt towards truth.

To release all our illusions and all images we used to worship falsely.

And Love will return to our awareness again.

And we will be peaceful into the Light again, because the idols will have been replaced by Reality.
